This Privacy Policy explains how Faith IT Consult Ghana Limited ("Faith IT Consult", "Sefarim", "we", "our", or "us") collects, stores, uses, analyzes, shares, protects, and retains information through the Sefarim website, mobile applications, APIs, content distribution systems, subscription services, payment systems, artificial intelligence systems, and related services.
By accessing or using Sefarim, creating an account, uploading content, purchasing content, subscribing to services, or communicating with us, you accept this Privacy Policy.
Important: This Privacy Policy applies to Users, Authors, publishers, contributors, organizations, representatives, and all other persons who interact with Sefarim.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
We may collect information used to create, verify, manage, secure, and support your account, including:

- Country or region;
- Username, user ID, account ID, and authentication identifiers;
- Password hashes or login tokens;

- Author names, pen names, and publisher details.
1.2 Author Information
For Authors, we may collect:
- Legal name and pen name;
- Contact details;
- Payment details;
- Tax or business information where required;
- Author biography;
- Photographs and promotional material;
- Book titles, descriptions, categories, keywords, and metadata;
- Uploaded manuscripts, eBooks, audiobooks, videos, audio, cover art, files, and related digital content;
- Sales, downloads, revenue, subscription allocation, and dividend information.
1.3 User Purchase and Subscription Information
We may collect transaction and access information, including:
- Books purchased;
- Subscription plans;
- Purchase dates and times;
- Payment status;
- Refunds, reversals, chargebacks, and failed payments;
- Transaction references;
- Payment provider confirmations;
- Access history and ownership records.

2. How We Use Information

- Creating and managing accounts;
- Providing access to purchased and subscription content;
- Processing payments and Author Dividends;
- Operating, maintaining, and improving Sefarim;
- Authenticating Users and Authors;
- Preventing piracy, fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access;
- Enforcing Terms of Service;
- Responding to support requests;
- Generating analytics and reports;
- Providing recommendations and personalization;
- Marketing books, Authors, subscriptions, and Sefarim services;
- Testing and developing new features;
- Complying with legal and regulatory obligations;
- Developing, training, fine-tuning, evaluating, and improving AI models and related systems.
3. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Use
Sefarim may use collected data, uploaded content, book content, text, metadata, images, audio, video, usage records, interaction data, and other digital content added to our systems for artificial intelligence and machine learning purposes within Faith IT Consult's applications, systems, and services.
These uses may include:
- Training AI models;
- Fine-tuning AI models;
- Improving search and discovery;
- Generating recommendations;
- Detecting piracy and fraud;
- Classifying content;
- Moderating content;
- Creating automated summaries and insights;
- Improving text-to-speech or audiobook systems;
- Improving speech, language, and reading technologies;
- Developing future AI-enabled features.
AI-related processing may continue even after an Author removes a book, removes an account, or stops using Sefarim, subject to applicable law and the Sefarim Terms of Service.
4. Marketing and Advertising
We may use Author information, book information, cover art, descriptions, excerpts, User interaction data, purchase trends, and platform analytics for advertising, publicity, campaigns, recommendations, social media promotion, radio promotion, television promotion, website promotion, and other marketing activities.
We may personalize marketing based on books viewed, books purchased, categories followed, searches performed, subscriptions used, and other interactions.
5. Security, Fraud Prevention, and Anti-Piracy
We may use information to secure Sefarim, including detecting suspicious devices, unauthorized sharing, account abuse, payment fraud, DRM circumvention, pirated content use, scraping, automated access, and attempts to copy or distribute protected content.
We may create and retain logs, security records, access records, device records, transaction records, and investigation records for anti-piracy, enforcement, legal, and operational purposes.
6. How We Share Information
We may share information with:
- Payment processors and banks;
- Mobile money providers;
- Hosting providers and cloud service providers;
- Analytics providers;
- AI service providers and technology vendors;
- Marketing and communication service providers;
- Professional advisers, auditors, accountants, and lawyers;
- Law enforcement, regulators, courts, or public authorities where required or permitted by law;
- Authors, where reporting sales, subscription access, analytics, or audience information;
- Business successors, investors, buyers, or partners in connection with restructuring, investment, merger, sale, acquisition, or transfer of business assets.
7. Author Analytics
We may provide Authors with analytics relating to their content, such as purchases, downloads, subscriptions, engagement, reading progress, demographic summaries, device summaries, location summaries, and other aggregated or individual-level data where appropriate.
Faith IT Consult decides what analytics are made available, how they are calculated, and whether they may be modified, delayed, restricted, or withdrawn.
8. Legal Bases and Consent
Where applicable, we process information based on contractual necessity, consent, legitimate business interests, legal obligations, fraud prevention, security needs, public interest, or other lawful bases available under applicable law.
By uploading content, Authors consent to the processing of submitted content and related data as described in this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service.
9. International Storage and Transfers
Information may be stored, processed, backed up, transmitted, or accessed in Ghana or in other countries where Faith IT Consult, hosting providers, payment processors, cloud providers, AI providers, or service providers operate.
10. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as necessary for business, legal, security, accounting, tax, anti-piracy, AI, analytics, operational, and contractual purposes.
Certain information may be retained indefinitely, including:
- Author content records;
- Sales and payment records;
- Purchase and ownership records;
- Security logs;
- Anti-piracy records;
- Legal records;
- AI training records and model-related data;
- Backups and archive records.
11. Account Closure and Content Removal
Closing an account or removing content does not automatically delete all information from Sefarim systems.
We may retain information where necessary for legal obligations, accounting, fraud prevention, anti-piracy enforcement, Author payments, User access records, dispute resolution, security, AI systems, backups, analytics, and legitimate business operations.
12. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Sefarim may use cookies, local storage, device identifiers, analytics technologies, tracking technologies, and similar tools to provide services, remember preferences, manage sessions, detect fraud, improve performance, support advertising, and analyze usage.
13. Data Security
We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
These measures may include encryption, access controls, authentication checks, server monitoring, security logs, backups, device verification, and DRM-related protections.
No digital system is completely secure. Users and Authors are responsible for keeping their own login credentials and devices secure.
14. User Choices and Rights
Subject to applicable law, Users and Authors may request access, correction, update, restriction, or deletion of certain personal information.
We may deny or limit requests where necessary for legal compliance, contract performance, payment records, anti-piracy enforcement, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, accounting, backup retention, AI model integrity, or legitimate business purposes.
15. Children's Privacy
Sefarim is not intended for unsupervised use by children. Persons under 18 should use Sefarim only with permission from a parent, guardian, school, institution, or lawful representative.
If we become aware that a child has provided information without appropriate authorization, we may restrict or delete the account where appropriate.
16. Third-Party Services
Sefarim may integrate with third-party services including payment gateways, mobile money providers, hosting services, analytics tools, AI services, communication tools, social media platforms, app stores, and authentication providers.
Third-party services may process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Faith IT Consult is not responsible for third-party privacy practices.
17. Public Information
Some Author information and book information may be publicly displayed, including names, pen names, biographies, book titles, descriptions, cover art, pricing, ratings, reviews, and promotional content.
Do not submit information you do not want displayed, advertised, analyzed, or used for platform operations.
18. Reviews, Ratings, and Feedback
Reviews, ratings, comments, reports, suggestions, and feedback may be collected, displayed, moderated, analyzed, used for marketing, used for recommendations, and processed through AI systems.
19. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Updated versions become effective when published on Sefarim or otherwise communicated. Continued use of Sefarim means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
